More than a coach: How Brittany & Serena are using coaching skills to pursue their non-profit passions.

I first met Brittany & Serena in the middle of lockdown.

Serena was a wildly talented singer in Vegas who knew she needed to pivot once everything started shutting down and her singing opportunities suddenly dried up.

Serena is what I like to call the ‘go-to person for her people.’

She had an innate gift of connecting and speaking with others, but the word “coach” felt too big and out of reach for her. However, Serena knew that she’d been ignoring the small whispers for too long and bravely took the bold step into her calling and purpose in the midst of a global pandemic.

For Serena, doing the deep inner work in part 1 of the MRA’s coaching training series, The Mind Rebel™ Practitioner Training, was life-changing. She found the confidence and her inner power to climb out of her self-imposed box as “just a singer” to pursue the possibilities of her “big bold beautiful dream” to serve others.

Brittany, Serena’s best friend, on the other hand, was already in the weeds creating change and impact in the nonprofit sector.

But Brittany knew she needed the credibility and additional training that would take her vision to the next level.

Both of these ladies didn’t come into coaching in the traditional sense. They had other dreams and passions - in fact, they were on separate paths. The Mind Rebel™ Academy helped them realize their purest intentions and merge paths that will one day make such a huge difference in their communities.

Serena and Brittany, are now using the skills, clarity and vision they’ve cultivated through Mind Rebel™ Academy to build a non-profit community center for marginalized women of color. They have a vision of making the world of self-development and coaching available to marginalized communities who would otherwise not have access to this type of self-care.  These are the women who need a safe space - along with the tools and guidance to heal, grow, and reverse the cycles of generational trauma.

Coaching was the amplifier that launched them into their joint passion and purpose.

This is what makes coaching such a unique, fun and diverse experience. It’s about creating an outlet in your life to connect, impact, create and learn.

But most importantly, it’s about honouring and loving yourself first. Both Serena and Brittany had things to work through before embarking on this dual mission. Serena was grieving in the midst of her training, and Brittany unpacking and healing from past trauma.

Coaching is so often thought of as a means to help other people, make money online, and give advice. But it’s so much more than that. A truly extraordinary coach is committed to doing the inner work.

Overcoming their fears, Serena and Brittany are almost graduated Mind Rebel™ Coaches. By doing their own internal mindset work, a world of possibility has opened up for them.  Together, Serena and Brittany are building their coaching practices and pursuing their lifelong calling to support the BIPOC community in Las Vegas.

This emphasis on coaching yourself first is what sets the Mind Rebel™ Academy apart from other programs.
