Our Origin Story: Chapter 3

A Million Lives Together

Despite my best efforts, I could never neatly define a niche or target audience (a real marketing no-no, I know). Instead, I opened the door to anyone who felt drawn to the deep inner work that the Mind Rebel™ Method seemed to facilitate—a practice that calls to the quiet stirrings within.

People came to this work because they felt an undeniable pull—something they couldn’t ignore.

For some, it wasn’t about leaving a job or becoming an entrepreneur as I had. Sometimes, it was a gentle whisper—a subtle knowing that more was waiting for them. Other times, it was life shouting louder, demanding they confront the next chapter. And for many, it was life’s screams—relationship breakdowns, career burnouts, health scares, or crises that refused to be silenced.

No matter the story, the common thread was clear: the life they were living no longer fit. Status quo was no longer an option. They were ready—whether consciously or not—to step into something greater.

The Mind Rebel™ Method meets people in this space of restlessness and longing. It speaks to the ache for alignment, calling to those who feel disconnected, weighed down by dissatisfaction or the persistent hum of anxiety that something is not as it should be.

If you pause and listen closely, beneath that discontent lies a quiet truth: a knowing that life could be different. A whisper of possibility. A yearning for change that feels just out of reach, waiting to be understood.

Time and time again, clients shared the same realization: experiencing this methodology took them on a profound inward journey—a journey that felt like coming home to themselves. As they aligned their inner world, extraordinary shifts began to unfold in their outer lives.

Relationships were brought into balance—some healed in ways that once felt impossible, while others naturally fell away, creating space for deeper, more aligned connections. Old jobs that no longer resonated came to an end, making way for purposeful opportunities—whether within their current companies or entirely new roles—that deeply aligned with their values. For others, creative passions they had long abandoned were reignited, becoming sources of joy and fulfillment. Even physical health saw incredible shifts—bodies that had been weighed down by stress and misalignment began to heal, while others found new strength to overcome chronic conditions or burnout.

These cascading effects revealed how aligning the inner world could bring about profound changes in every facet of life.

Who they were transformed on the inside, and Life responded in kind, rearranging their outer world to reflect and align with the harmony, joy, and beauty they had uncovered within themselves.

I witnessed this time and time again...

These are not abstract concepts—they’re real stories, lived by extraordinary individuals I’ve had the honor of working with. Let me share a few that I’ll carry with me forever... (All the names of these clients have been changed to respect their privacy.)

Let's begin with Laura—a full-time nurse working shifts and a mother of two young boys. When Laura first came to me for coaching, her world was unraveling. Her husband’s affair had shattered the fragile trust they were desperately trying to rebuild. For years, they were stuck in a painful cycle: he would promise it was over, and she would convince herself to believe him—holding on for the sake of her family. But her intuition never stopped whispering the truth: his promises were empty and not to be trusted.

When Laura walked into my office for our first session, she looked defeated—overwhelmed by the chaos in her life. Yet beneath the exhaustion, I saw a glimmer of resilience, the spark of a woman who still had her whole life ahead of her.

The knowing that the best was yet to come—a quiet but unshakable belief that her story wasn’t finished yet.

In our sessions, Laura faced the parts of herself that felt small, powerless, and afraid. Instead of pushing those feelings aside to maintain the status quo, she met her Rebel Mind. She nurtured that part of herself. And through that process, she began to heal.

As she healed, Laura allowed herself to dream again—not muted, compromised dreams, but bold ones born from the deepest yearnings of her soul. She let herself imagine a future no longer defined by fear or survival.

And as she dared to dream, life began to respond. She listened to the part of her that knew the way forward—the part that guided her to leave her husband and rebuild her life. She found a new job in her field, one that didn’t require shift work, and focused on healing herself and creating a safe, loving environment for her boys. Step by step, with unwavering courage, she moved forward—rooted in her authenticity and guided by her truth—trusting herself to create the life she deeply desired and deserved.

Today, Laura’s life is unrecognizable. She is in a loving, devoted relationship with a man who cherishes her and her children. She works in a job she loves, with hours that honor her well-being. Her life has blossomed in ways she once thought impossible.

She has arrived at the vision she crafted for herself in my little home office all those years ago.

Then there was Kelsey, a single woman with a full-time career—a job she excelled at. Although she didn’t feel fully valued in her role and didn’t love the job itself, she had no intention of leaving. She didn’t come to coaching for a career change; she came to me for deeply personal reasons.

Kelsey was sad.

For over a decade, she had been on antidepressants and in and out of therapy, but nothing seemed to bring lasting relief.

When we first spoke, I explained the difference between coaching and therapy. I shared that, as a coach, my role was to stay in the coaching arena, focusing on the future. While the past often emerges—because it undeniably shapes our present—the emphasis in coaching remains forward-facing. She understood and, feeling like she had nothing to lose, decided to give it a try.

Early in our sessions, Kelsey revealed an inflection point in her life: many years ago she had an abortion she deeply regretted. She shared how, before the abortion, she felt happy and whole, but after, she was engulfed by a sadness that never left.

Together, we explored how these buried emotions—shame, regret, and loneliness—were affecting her today. As she began to process and fully feel these emotions using the Mind Rebel™ Method as her guide, a profound shift occurred. Session after session, I watched Kelsey’s light return. It was as if a heavy weight was being lifted from her spirit.

I’ll never forget one of our final sessions. Kelsey shared a conversation she had with her doctor earlier that week. When he realized she hadn’t refilled her antidepressant prescription, he offered to write her another. That’s when Kelsey told him, "I don’t need them anymore. I’ve been off them for months, and I feel amazing." Surprised, her doctor asked, "What changed?"

She smiled and said, "I fell in love with myself."

(Please let me be clear: as a coach, I hold no expertise or opinion on medication. Kelsey and I never discussed her decision to stop her medication, nor was it a focus of our work. What I do know is this: Kelsey knows herself best. She is the ultimate expert on her own life, and I trust her to make the decisions that serve her highest good. That’s the stand I will always take, no matter the subject.)

It’s been years since I spoke to Kelsey, but the last I heard, she had left her unfulfilling job and embarked on an epic adventure, traveling the world where her soul was calling her next.

Then there was Jane. When she came to me, she was grappling with a deep sense of disconnection—though she wouldn’t have described it that way at the time. Her long-term friendships felt distant, her closest relationships lacked the deep connection she craved, and everything around her seemed to reflect the growing void she felt within. As we began working together, Jane allowed herself to delve into the hidden corners of her inner world. Slowly, she began shedding the layers of an old self that no longer fit her, and watching that unfold was unlike anything I'd ever witnessed before...

As Jane shed the emotional layers of her old self, her body seemed to reflect the transformation—she developed alopecia and began losing all her hair.

As you can imagine, this was devastating for her, as it would be for most women. Yet, through this challenge, Jane met herself in extraordinary depths. She was invited to confront her deepest fears about her lovability and insecurities—both about her outward appearance and her inner sense of worth. Witnessing her navigate these layers of herself with such courage and grace was profoundly humbling.

Near the end of our sessions, Jane sat across from me in my office. With quiet confidence, she removed the silk scarf that covered her bald head. Her eyes met mine, and she broke into the most radiant smile. "I’ve never felt more beautiful in my entire life," she said, her voice steady and true.

That beauty she discovered within herself radiated outward, touching every part of her life. Her partner—now her husband—mirrored her newfound self-love and devotion, creating a relationship built on deep respect and connection. Her relationships began to evolve, and she soon found herself surrounded by a thriving community of supportive, aligned connections.

Years later, she has fully stepped into the vision she once dreamed of. With a full head of thick, beautiful curls, Jane is now married, raising a healthy happy baby girl, and passionately pursuing her calling in nutrition and coaching. She dedicates her work to helping others navigate the very challenges she once faced, carrying forward the grace and resilience that defined her own incredible journey.

I have collected hundreds of stories like Laura’s, Kelsey’s, and Jane’s over the years—stories of lives changed, trajectories altered.

Each one came to this work because events or circumstances in their lives were the catalysts calling for change. And not just surface-level change—deep, life-altering, pattern-breaking change from the inside out.

I’ve witnessed time and time again what happens when someone bravely does the inner work to come home to themselves. It always begins with a deep call from within—and an unwavering commitment to doing the work and showing up for themselves.

The results of this process never fail to amaze me.

At the end of every day, I would sit in quiet awe, marvelling at the privilege of this work and thinking to myself, "Is this really what I get to do for a living?"

Pinch me.

I was working with incredible clients, bearing witness to unbelievable journeys. I had a healthy work-life balance. My vocation wasn’t just a job; it was an extension of my heart and soul. It filled me up in ways that allowed me to show up as the best mother and partner I could possibly be.

Life was good.

And for a while, I was content.

Until those familiar whispers began to surface once more.

This time, though, I caught them early. They arrived as a gentle nudge rather than a harsh scream. That’s what this approach teaches you: to notice the subtle stirrings within before the world has to shout to get your attention.

Life, after all, constantly invites us to evolve, grow, and step into ever-expanding versions of ourselves. When we quiet the world’s noise, we can hear the next call to adventure—a gentle beckoning to step more fully into our truest, most authentic selves.

This cycle of growth has no endpoint.

So, when Life called, I listened.

One by one, clients began asking me, "Can you teach me to do what you just did for me, so I can do this for others?"

At first, I laughed it off. I was a coach, not a teacher! How could I possibly explain what I was doing, let alone teach it to others? The transformations I witnessed left me in such awe that I struggled to find the words to articulate them myself.

Yet, devoted to this work—and honestly, afraid of where ignoring those whispers might lead— I decided to follow where Life was guiding me next.

My parents used to tell me growing up that my eyes were bigger than my belly. I would pile my plate high with my dad’s homemade Italian cooking, only to roll around in discomfort afterward. It was a recurring pattern—a mix of ambition and overreach—a quality that has been both a blessing and a curse throughout my life.

Looking back now, had I truly grasped the magnitude of the work required—not just to develop a program that delves deeply into the Mind Rebel™ Method, but also to create a world-class coach training accredited by the International Coaching Federation—I might have hesitated to begin.

But am I ever grateful I didn’t.

As I guided the first group of students through the Mind Rebel™ Method, I witnessed something extraordinary. One by one, they reconnected with themselves, stepping into visions of lives aligned with their truth, values, and purpose. Their alignment sparked impacts both big and small—transforming homes, families, classrooms, communities...

This alignment within themselves created ripples that reached everyone they loved, led, and served.

Ripples that will be felt for generations.

In that moment, I realized that the line from my vision statement years earlier, 'I have stepped fully into my life's work. I am impacting a million lives...' had taken on a shape and meaning far beyond anything I could have imagined.

I was never meant to impact a million lives alone.

We were meant to do it together.

To date, The MRA has trained over 300 students from around the world in the Mind Rebel™ Method through our flagship programs.

And deep down, I know this is just the beginning.

My work in this lifetime is to inspire people to dream boldly for their lives, helping them uncover their authentic selves and step into the most beautiful, breathtaking vision of their future.

After all, this is our one irreplaceable life—no rehearsals, no second chances. What we choose to do with it defines everything, and that responsibility rests solely with us.

At The MRA, our mission is to empower individuals to reclaim their sovereignty and fully embrace ownership of their lives.

As this 3 part origin story comes to an end, I want to thank you for being here—for reading, for reflecting, for holding space for these stories. It means more to me than I can put into words.

If you’ve made it this far, I feel like we’re kindred spirits.

You feel what I feel.

You hear that quiet, persistent call, too.

I want you to know that I believe in you, your dreams, and what’s possible for you in this lifetime.

Onwards,

Taryn Watts
